Dune

Here are a few photos taken during a long walk on the dunes in Oregon. These huge sand dunes stretch for over 60 km along the coast. While exploring, we saw lots of unidentifiable animal tracks and we surprised a lizard, which scurried away to hide in the dune grass. At the top of one dune, from which we could see the ocean glittering in the distance, an osprey flew over us carrying a large fish in its talons.    

These dunes were apparently part of the inspiration for a classic science ficiton novel you may have heard of...
