Some photos from a week spent in Freiburg, Germany:
My favourite part of Freiburg was the munster, a gothic cathedral built in the middle ages. I went and explored the munster a few times while I was in town. One of the times I was there I was lucky enough to hear someone playing the pipe organ. Some of the pipes were more than 25`long - the music was cool - triumphant and discordant sounds echoing throughout the cathedral....
A short walk through town and I reached the trails of the black forest (the schwarzwald), a forest of oak, maple, yew, and sycamore trees. The forested hills around Freiburg was quite steep, but fortunately the first thing I encountered upon entering the forest was a beer garden where I discovered how delicious hefeweizen dunkel is.
